There is just no way to share it all. It would be impossible. I'm seeing the Lord working miracles on a consistent basis as I follow His quiet promptings. And I love it.
I'm sure you remember the family that needs to get married that I mentioned when I first came into the area. Well, we have started visiting with them again. I have finally had the opportunity to get to know them this past week. And it was amazing to me how the spirit had made known to me even before meeting them exactly what my role in their conversion process would be. I shared with them my personal witness of what Nefi teaches us in 1 Nephi 3:7 It was a wonderful moment when they came to church this past week! They are currently working towards getting married again. It's tough, but they can do it. And after they do it, they are excited about getting baptized. This is truly a miracle because we received a phone call the night before a visit we had scheduled with them in which they both took turns telling us how frustrated they are and how they simply want to stop all of this getting closer to God stuff. It wasn't a very fun conversation. It was all centered around how difficult it will be for them to get married and live the law of chastity. It was as if they completely forgot that it isn't the missionaries, but the Lord, who asks us to live the Law of Chastity. So like I said, it was a wonderful blessing to have them at church with us on Sunday. And they LOVED being back at church. It had been more than a month since they had last came to church. They didn't even realize how much they had missed it
The Lord has carefully prepared me to be in Boyle Heights at this time. I know it. He has blessed me with many experiences, even miracles, which testify of the truths and promises found in the scriptures. And he has done this with the expectation that I will use these experiences/miracles as tools to inspire others unto him. And the way he wants me to use these tools is different in every situation depending on the needs and concerns of the individual. It reminds me of the promise in D & C which states that he will give us in the precise moment that which will be needed for every man. He has prepared me to be His witness(Mosiah 24:14). When I read the words of the prophets in the Book of Mormon that say that they feel privileged and highly favored of the Lord, I truly feel that I can say the same. It's Wonderful.
I got to participate in a MIRACLE today. A member of the ward came up to me at church yesterday and asked if we could come meet with her and her friend today at 12. Normally I would try to schedule it for a different time and day (it being Pday and all) But after hearing about this Hermana's friend, I felt it would be best for us to go today even in the middle of our Pday. It was one of the best lessons I have had the opportunity to participate in on my mission. I LOVE member work. It is the better way. I say it was a miracle because our visit today was perfectly timed. This woman is searching for the truth and has been considering taking herself back to her old church even though she isn't completely convinced it's God's church. It is simply the best match she has been able to find. But as she learned of the miracle of the Restoration today, she committed with great excitement to join the Lord's restored church. She knows it's true. The opportunity to join the church of God was an answer to her prayers and deepest desires.
Hmmmm.....
I'm going back and forth between working on my BYU application and email.
I think it's time I focus in on the applications.
Love Ya!
