January 13, 2014 Email

[So Mom sent this message to Elder Ostler:  "I don’t know the status of your [BYU Application] essays but!!! the last day I can possibly do anything with them is next Monday, January 20.  If I am remembering correctly, Feb 1 is the last moment to apply for Fall 2014.  I know that by making this declaration I am likely forfeiting my Monday letter but!!! I have to have your essays now!  Ok, I’m done.  Could you at least acknowledge that you received this request so I’ll know why I’m not getting my letter this week J."  And the following note arrived in my inbox along with an essay for his college application]:

Thanks mom.  This was a needed relief for my brain (knowing that I could focus completely on my essays today).  I have been struggling with them for a long time now not getting anywhere.  I have just been juggling too much for too long on my Pdays (making sure I write exchange reports to president (a district leader responsibility), making sure I get a good letter to the family, making sure we get everything done my companion needs to do before going to the library, getting the things I need to do done before I come to the library, and even sometimes doing things that are normally done during the proselyting week).  I have been putting the essays off for too long.  And now I'm running out of time to fulfill my dream of getting to BYU.  And then my conscious won't let me do it during the week during my lunch hours like I sometimes hope to do.  Thank you so much mom for this miracle of an opportunity to get my essays done.
I Love you!
