Hello!

Regarding the Dropbox account thing you made for me, I will need to check and make sure I have permission to download that program.  The things we can put on our iPads are very limited.  And by that I mean that the only things we can put on them are those things that have been approved by the church.  So I will check on that.  Thanks Mom!  I'm sure you took quite a bit of time investigating that for me this week.  Even though we are no longer friends on FB I was still notified of the message you made to the world regarding my technology problems.  Seeing that post put a smile on my face.  That post inspired me to share a fun story...

But before the story,

Question: How long do I have before I need to give my school decision to you?  I am 90% BYU Provo right now.  But the scholarship waiting for me at BYUI is somewhat appealing.  Anyways, How long do I have before that needs to be a final decision?

Hmmm.  It was a super good week.  The highlight of the week was that we found 12 new investigators! Woot Woot!

I feel really good about half of them, but out of all our new investigators, the coolest one is a man that I met in the street about 2 months ago.  He is a super cool guy.  I was never able to catch him at home since the day I met him so we stopped trying to go by about 2 weeks after we had met him.  Surprisingly, even though I have talked with hundreds of people since then, I never forgot that contact I had with him.  I met him while waiting for a crosswalk signal with Elder Nelson.  He was a really nice man with a lot of scripture knowledge.  When I complimented him on his scripture knowledge, he pulled a full-size Bible out of his sweatshirt and held it out for us to see as he explained that he never goes anywhere without the word of God.  Any spare moment he gets he pulls out his Bible to study.

He was very open to having us come back and even made an appointment with us for later that evening.  But right before our appointment we ran into him as he was leaving his apartment to go to work (he got called in to work).  That was the last we saw of him till just recently.

On Saturday night, I called our recent convert (the awesome one who has all the health problems) to ask if he still wanted us to teach him the bus route to church.  His eye surgery to give him his vision back keeps getting postponed and so he had decided to take himself to church on bus so as to not be a burden on others. His reply to me was that he wouldn't need help anymore because he had already figured out how to get himself to church!  He explained how he would go in his car to church with a friend of as the driver.  Then he explained, "Tengo ganas traerlo por la iglesia conmigo hermano!  Yo pienso que va ser muy interesado!"  Then he goes on to explain that he wants us to come with him and his friend too so that we can meet him before church starts.

On Sunday morning when we get over to our recent converts house, a man walks out with him that looks strangely familiar.  It was the man I met forever ago on the street!  In the split seconds I had to show him that I had remembered him, I wasn't able to remember his name.  But there is a miracle tool I get to use now to help my memory out.  It’s an iPad!  We greeted and then as i sat down in the car i whipped out my iPad to look up his name based off of where he lived while at the same time keeping a conversation going about what a fun coincidence it was to finally see him again.  It worked like a charm!  In a flash I had his name pulled up on the screen and he of course was super impressed that I had remembered him.  Woot Woot!  How's that for technology skills mom? ;)  Impressive eh?  Ok... I guess it’s really not impressive.  But still.  I had to try to save myself at least a little bit.  I'm sure if it was anyone else that pulled off such a technology stunt it wouldn't be looked at with so much amazement.  But considering who it was, I had to give him at least a little credit ;)

Hmmm well other fun news.  I'm pretty sure I got a bit ripped off at a bike shop this morning.  But the good news is that my bike is in good and very safe running order again.  My rear tire kept getting popped.  It has been popped 3 times in the last two weeks.  I think it is the glass on the street.  So this morning I bought a heavy-duty tube, some other heavy-duty thing to line the inside of the tire, and a pump for $20 because I still didn't have one.  All of my companions have always had one so I have been good up to this point in my mission.  Supposedly i got a discount on all of that stuff.  Then, I bought new brake pads (my brake pads were almost gone) and had the gears adjusted (that was very needed).  Finally I bought a spare tube.  It all came out to a grand total of  $81!  So...the good news is that my bike runs like a dream again!  But I'm pretty sure that I could have had all that done for a lot cheaper at another shop here in town.  Oh well.

Well I got to get running!

Love you All!

The one and only,

Elder Ostler
